Since my childhood, I have been fascinated by Nature and Fine Art. Being creative in what I do has always been essential to me. My love for landscape photography has been simply a natural progression of the meeting between camera and me.
For a long time I was a musician progressing into computer science, before becoming a full-time photographer.
I love sharing my knowledge with other photographers, running photo tours, and most of all creating fine art imagery. I favour delicate pastel shades and the warm colours of dawn and dusk, when natural light is at its best. The equipment that I use allows me to capture magical moments, authentically, at the picture taking stage, rather than relying mostly on digital post-production.
To me one of the best parts of landscape photography is the planning of the photo shoot: being prepared is half the work when it comes to capturing amazing shots. When planning a shot it is essential to scout out the location days or even weeks in advance, studying light direction and perspectives, focusing in particular on the right time of day to shoot.
I usually imagine in my mind the picture I want to get, and then work extensively with maps and weather forecasts to ensure I will be in the right place at the right time. By starting well before dawn I am ensured of reaching my chosen location before dawn.
My one wish is to inspire people and pass on to them the emotion that I always feel when capturing my images.
It’s not the camera, nor the lens. It’s not about technique or post-production. It’s your heart that makes a great photo.
